Craft advantages
Built from the structure out.
A Pusu Atelier case begins with a stable body, clear layers and materials chosen to work together. The result is a restrained hard case with the substance to be used, carried and kept.
The design approach
The way a case comes together.
Our work follows three connected ideas: a stable structure, a sense of dimensional depth and a considered match between materials. Together, they give a hard case its order, presence and restrained finish.
01 · The body
A stable body.
The case body uses a multi-layer plywood framework designed to resist moisture and deformation. Selected natural beech reinforcement adds strength where the structure needs it.
02 · The covering
Leather with a warmer hand.
Natural vegetable-tanned cowhide can be used to wrap the exterior. It brings a warm hand-feel to the case while providing a durable surface for regular use.
03 · The fittings
Hardware made to stay in service.
Locks and fittings are precision-made in Grade 316 stainless steel for resistance to rust over long-term use. Their placement is part of the structure as well as the finish.
04 · The handwork
Finished in the hand.
Each handle is hand-stitched. Edges, surfaces and small transitions are finished and polished by hand, giving the final piece the attention a hard case needs before it leaves the workshop.
We make each case with the intention that it can remain useful for a long time, as a piece to live with and to pass on.
